I haven't had a drink, but any woman will tell you that you could benefit greatly by choosing your words more diplomatically. There is NO town of NJ that is home to this woman of your dreams. She is everywhere in NJ. She's called a "Jersey Girl"!
Your situation/attitude will dictate your options, no matter where you look geographically. For example:
If you're in your 20s, educated, decent job with decent personality & looks = good options available
If you're in your 20s, uneducated, crummy job with crappy personality & looks = less options available
Add 10 more years and your options decrease
Get to your early 40s and you get lots of re-treads with bratty teenagers and women who live with their moms and/or 20 cats.

I have found women of all types in all regions. Its a needle in a haystack for sure.
For me personally, what helped me find the right one was to raise my standards significantly. Don't just go for a pretty face or nice body. I mean, you need to be attracted to them for sure but, spend a moment to TALK and get to know them. I found out very quickly if I simply wasnt interested in trying any further and it saved me ALOT of drama. Just walk away and keep it moving. I stopped playing games and didn't tolerate them being played on me.
Hang around more working class towns, and you will have less high maintenance women. Sure, they might have an accent or a drug problem but you might get the 5% that don't.
I think the OP should define what he considers materialistic. That word may mean different things to different people. A girl who tries to better her situation in life, get an education, is professional and in a decent job with prospects still wants a family, but is usually looking for a man in a similar situation as she.
If non materialistic means 'like mama', maybe that has an entirely different connotation.
Don't forget that often a woman women who appears to have a chip on her shoulder may have got that way because of the way men have treated her. Sometimes you have to spend time with someone to see if there's anything beneath that shell.
I think 'the game' played by men and women, although appearing phony, is to increase sexual tension and interest. With women, sex is more a mental thing. Perhaps if that 'certain something' is not there in the first place, most women don't want to talk about settling down.
I heard this somewhere else:
Women look for the right one,
men look for the right time.
So, when you have reached the right time in life to settle down(financial readiness), your next step is to convince some female that you are her right one, which often is a mental process.

You need to find yourself an eastern European woman. They're awesome. I am living with a Russian woman. Great family values, not interested in cutting your nads off, and well-educated. Most Europeans have good access to education because it is provided by the gov't. Therefore, most will have a college education. If you can find yourself a Russian, Hungarian, Czech, Pole, you will be a very happy man.
I also have two friends that have eastern European spouses. I have never seen them so happy. Both were married to American woman previously and they were utterly miserable.
