Me and my wife are considering to buy a house in Washington Twp, Bergen, NJ. I am NYC commuter and from what I see the only commuting option for me is taking 46/47 shortline bus in the morning from Lafayette/Washington ave. Does anyone have experience riding the bus which s/he can share with me? Particularly, since the route does not originate in Washington:
1. Is the bus on schedule most of the time? The schedule does not list the intermediate stops in washington, it just shows Pascack/Washington stop, but it is pretty close to Lafayette.
2. Does the bus get full any time, do they allow standing people in the bus?
3. Is the trip time from washington to Port Authority/NYC accurate at 50 mins? The return schedule shows time to be quite smaller, 35mins. I know that schedule for Ridgewood rt 17 shortline bus shows around 35mins in both directions, so Washington, being nearly there, should be pretty same in terms of the trip to and from NYC.
Last question is whether anybody can suggest other transportation options from Washington, bergen to NYC. I know there are park/rides in ridgewood, paramus, but they get filled up pretty fast in the morning, so if I am planning to take a bus around 7:30 the spots are likely to be all gone by then.
