There are some iffy blocks but I feel like it's safer further North...some people say don't go east Monroe as a general rule.

What I would say is that I would not be thrilled riding the HBLR late at night especially in that area. There have been several incidents and the police presence isn't adequate.

But I do LMAO at people ragging on Hoboken for infrastructure. I must have missed all those NJ burbs that are adequately planned, that don't flood, that aren't loaded with congestion, and that don't have outrageous taxes...please illuminate those for the rest of us!

Hoboken taxes are way lower than most of the burbs, the traffic is bad but no different from the suburban traffic at busy hours. The difference is people in Hoboken can hop on the PATH or even NJT and be in the city in minutes. That's infrastructure.

What were the HBLR incidents? I also agree with your comments regarding infrastructure and taxes.

If you search jersey journal you will find that there are lot of robberies and attempted robberies, particularly by the 9th St station. I also have a friend who was jumped over there.

When we bought, we decided not to go past Adams, or much past Adams. It can be kinda sketchy past there. Every so often I do see the same guy begging near our apartment but I see him more so closer to Monroe.
