My husband and I are new to the area and are "embarking" on having our first child. I'm looking for a good ob/gyn in the area and would also love to hear about some experiences in different hospitals - I think Somerset and Hunterdon Medical Centers would be the closest for us (and the ones most likely to have local ob/gyn affiliations).

As far as what I'd like in a doctor - definitely female, a bit on the younger side. Really important to have someone who takes patient concerns to heart. Basically, someone you'd recommend as a good, attentive doctor who you felt comfortable with for care during and after your pregnancy.

Based on some research on Healthgrades.com and Vitals.com, Dr. Pisatowski in Flemington is at the top of my list. If you've had any specific experiences with her I'd love to know what you thought.

Thanks much for any suggestions!

Somerset Ob/Gyn. We used them for both our kids and had great experience.

They have locations in both Bridgewater and Hillsborough. But they only deliver at St. Peters in New Brunswick.

She is with All Women's Healthcare in Flemington - great choice! They have a great reputation in the area.
Hunterdon Medical Center is a really nice hospital to have a baby. The rooms are huge and they are very supportive of different birth options. They are a smaller hospital so it's a more personal experience. They also have a of groups and resources to help you on your journey to parenthood - several different types of prenatal classes for baby care, they teach a couple different methods of birth, they have moms groups, breastfeeding support groups, etc. Heck, they will even install your carseat for you.
