Hi everyone! I currently live in Hudson County, NJ and I'm considering moving to Budd Lake or surrounding areas. I really want to live in a more quiet and relaxed environment and found a few apartment complexes online that looked nice, I will have to take a trip over to check it out. I have 2 small children and will be able to transfer work, so that isn't an issue.

Does anyone have any information about Budd Lake? pros, cons? etc?

thanks so much!

Budd Lake and Mt. Olive township are in general pretty nice. There are many lakes, forests, and parks a short drive away, so it's great if you like nature. The ITC mall in Mt. Olive has just about all the stores you'd want. Not too sure about schools, they didn't have a great reputation when I was in school, but that's because I went to rival Roxbury. In general, I think Budd Lake is a little more blue collar than Roxbury and Randolph, the other two big exurbs in the area. However, Mt. Olive township does have some pretty upscale developments too. I would advise you to be discerning in your apartment search, several of the complexes in Budd Lake have bad reputations. Nothing crazy like murders, but some youth vandalism and drug use. Not that those things don't occur in wealthy housing developments too, it's just more concentrated in some of the cheap garden complexes.
