It has been 12 years since I last visited Cape May, and 3 years since I last visited the shore . Guys, I learned a very good lifetime lesson today. Never EVER talk about going to the shore when women over 45 are around you.

I will visit the shore alone, sometime in the future. Hopefully mom does not reject my idea.
That would be me at the thought of being on the parkway on a 3 day holiday weekend

(and ignoring that Orlando makes no sense for OP)

Water temperatures for lakes in the Catskills are still hovering around 52 F here. I need at least 65+ to swim bare bodied. Looks like I will have to put swimming on hold . Oh well, at least I will be able to wear shorts outside .

I also recommend Cape May and the zoo there. It will be too cold to be in the water, but being on the beach will be nice, especially because it shouldn't be too hot. Cape May also has tons to do outside the beach, it is one of those towns that doesn't necessarily need the beach to be a successful tourist area but the beach certainly helps and makes it so great.
