Google and Yelp have only sent me to subcontractors but I am looking for an actual moving company based in the Westfield, Scotch Plains, Cranford area.
I am very surprised that I can't seem to find anything.
Why do you want a company that is physically located in those towns (just curious)? I can offer a very strong recommendation for Budd Van Lines out of Somerset, NJ. I am not affiliated with them other than being a very satisfied repeat customer. They have move me locally and across country. They use their own employees and their own equipment - not subcontractors. Andy they have received many awards. Check them out online.

What is your zipcode, i will recommend you someone reliable, not cheap - but reliable. BTW Budd Van Lines is a reputable company. I'm not sure how far they are from your location, but I don't recommend typically hiring a company that is more than 60 minutes from your house maybe a little more depending on the city and town you are in. BTW, make sure you have an in-home estimate, unless you are only shipping very minimal items.

Call Palmieri Moving * Moving And Storage - Piscataway, NJ - Palmieri Movers several friends and co workers have used them and all had great things to say about the job they did. Several mentioned how good they were to deal with, no hidden additional fees, etc and that their prices were reasonable. One co-worker also mentioned the extra care the packers took with her heirloom china and other fragile things. Although most who used them did so for moving within the state one did use them for moving from NJ to another state, (IIRC somewhere in PA) They are hedquartered in Piscataway, only 20/25 minutes from you, so I'd call them local to Westfield. I used Fast Moving in Hackettstown to move to my home in Springfield. I have no complaints. They were one of the only companies I called that didn't send me to some national agency switchboard.
Try White Glove Movers. I an an agent who works in Westfield and many of my clients have recommend them.
