I guess the big question is, why does the college have to be in NJ? There are large state-supported schools that have what you are talking to. When a kid is in college they should be focused on college and not being involved with what's going on in your household in my opinion. Even out of state tuition costs depending on the school can still be a good buy compared with private school costs.

This seems real complicated for some people.
I was looking for in-state options because the tuition is cheaper. It's almost $50k out of state to go to Penn State including everything. That's a lot of money, particularly when I'll have two in college.
Since it doesn't appear that there is an attractive in-state option, I probably will be sending her out of state, as I noted above your post.

If cost was a top concern, perhaps you should have made that clear in your original post. Otherwise, replicating the kind of campus you initially described did naturally have folks think about near-by colleges in other states.

"Best colleges in NJ?..... Obviously Princeton stands out, but can anyone sell me on some of the lesser known colleges?
I asked a question about people's opinions on lesser known colleges in New Jersey. That is exactly the information I was looking for.
I don't need life lessons on our process. We're doing just fine.

If you're going to quote yourself, recall: " I went to a large Big Ten school with a huge, beautiful campus in a bucolic setting. Your classic "college experience".... and while you did specify NJ, all of your other criteria could clearly be met with universities in nearby states (and some of which are closer for NJ residents to get to than some NJ colleges).
Not sure about life lessons, but I have found that people on this forum give some great ideas, but don't always respond well to copping an attitude.

Best of luck!
"Best Colleges In NJ?" is the title of the post. Thanks for the well wishes.
Read all the replies on this forum and no one mentioned St Peters University. One of the best Business schools in the country. Close to Manhattan as well.
What gives??
