Your PCP should be able to give you a recommendation. Didn't he do that when he referred you to a cardiologist?

You can also check with your health insurance. You may have to choose a cardiologist that is in-network to your plan.

Some health insurance plans require specific referrals from the PCP.

All that being said, you can also look at www.ratemds.com (a free site) to see if any cardiologists in that area are listed & rated.

I am not satisfied with the current cardiologist and hence looking for recommendation from people who have themselves or their family members have consulted one and are satisfied with the experience. It is very easy to find doctors online and ratings that may or may not reflect accurate picture.

I can recommend an excellent cardiologist in Branchburg, but that is probably a bit further than you want to travel. However, for your consideration, I submit the following information about him:

A few summers ago, Chris Christie suffered chest pains and breathing difficulties while at an appearance in Somerset County. He was rushed to Somerset Medical Center, and my cardiologist was the one who was summoned by the hospital staff to examine the governor. I think that this tells you something about his competence, and the high regard in which he is held by his peers.

A few years prior to that incident, I had asked a friend for a recommendation regarding a cardiologist, and my friend--who is a nurse--recommended this man without hesitation. Personally, I am very happy with this doctor.

So...if you want his name, address, and phone number, please let me know.

I am willing to travel a bit further around 20 miles radius in NJ. And Somerset should be non issue. So please provide the information and any other recommendation.

Definitely get a 2nd opinion or another doc. Do I have a story!

Ask logical questions, you don't need to be medical expert to question a doctor. Your job is to make them 'think' rather rely on their vast experience and categorize you and treat you like a poodle who doesn't speak or understand englsih.

Ask the same questions of different people or the same people at different times and when you get a diffferent answer follow that thread and ask why the answer was different.

Find a doc with a pharmacy degree as well as a cardio specialty, like one of the docs referenced above.
