I'm moving to NJ in a month & 1/2 and i'm looking for the right borough to live in. I'm 23 and just looking for the right environment that I could mesh well in.

The cost of apartment rentals, auto insurance, and transit fares are considerably higher in NJ than in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Instead of just thinking about social issues, you need to consider whether you can actually afford to live in the extremely youth-oriented parts of the state--such as Hoboken--which also tend to be among the more expensive places for rentals.

First, you need to tell us about your budget for housing, where you will be working, and whether you need ready access to mass transit. Once we know about those factors, you will be able to get some advice with value. Right now, whatever advice you will get may be meaningless because you haven't told us about those factors.

I'm pretty much already filled in on the cost of living and what not. I'm moving with my dad in roselle park to start out, and I work from home so I get to keep my job. I'm heavily interested in somewhere with a great nightlife because I DJ on the side, and also that is not too far from the city.

Agree, Hoboken sounds like what you want (if you can afford to live there.)

The OP is apparently not concerned with costs.
Or, at least he thinks so at this point, before actually living here...

Hoboken, but I will also say that downtown Jersey City is really starting to develop a good scene for younger people. I am seeing more and more move into the area. The area around Newark and Grove is going to be awesome. Already a beehive and with Newark being closed to vehicular traffic and made into a pedestrian walkway, that is going to be a fun spot with Porta (roof top bar), Raval, Public House and the relocation of Hard Grove Cafe. All new venues being built-out now that will be up and running next year.
