My husband and I will be moving to Freehold Township from Staten Island. We already researched some areas and we love Freehold Township.

It will be just the two of us. We plan on renting for a year or two first before buying. We want to make sure this will be the area we love.

We want to live in a community with a pool and gym and where they mow the lawn and shovel snow. We looked in Raintree community and that was nice. Then we toured the Avalon at Freehold and we really liked it! I had researched and read reviews and it was positive.

I would like to know if anyone here lives or had lived there and what they thought of Avalon. Or, if there is another community we should look at in Freehold Township.

Thank you! 😀

Hi, after viewing the Avalon again, we decided that is the place for us!

We are hoping to move by the end of Aug or Sept.

Any input about Freehold would be greatly appreciated!

Also, any good vegetarian restaurants in the area? We ate in the All Seasons 2 a few times and liked it. The Manalapan diner on Rt 9 was just ok.

Freehold is nice, as long as you don't need to be in the City often, the commute is awful. A lot of Staten Islanders move out there for more space and better shopping/schools. Personally unless you plan on having kids I would think it is a bit boring and sterile, but different strokes for different folks. If you plan on raising a family there and work in NJ, then it is a pretty good place to live.

Thank you for responding. We don't have to worry about commuting, since we both work from home.

Sadly no children. We been looking around online to see about different things to do. We'll find exciting things, I'm sure!
