So to avoid THOSE particular bratty, nasty WF kids, just don't go to Pingry, eh? All the well adjusted WF kids can be found at the highly ranked Westfield High School, apparently.
I shouldn't assume and insult a great school. I have nothing against Pingry. Which private high school did you go to?
I wouldn't recommend Westfield, based soley on experiences I've had with people there. I went to high school with a bunch of Westfield kids, spent a LOT of time there, and until recently was living with someone from Westfield. They were some of the most entitled, nasty people I've ever met. The parents were no different. I don't know much about Glen Rock, but I would steer clear of Westfield. The "community" feel everyone talks about is really just gossipping at the Whole Foods about who's kid was recently diagnosed with depression/anxiety/bipolar etc.
Make me wonder why you were friends with so many of them? Birds of a feather ...

So what Whole Foods would that be? The one that only RECENTLY opened in Clark or the one all the way over by Maplewood. Obviously some troll that just wants to bash a town for no reason
Both towns are beautiful and have top-rated schools. Glen Rock is much smaller. If you're the type of person who likes a large downtown with countless events going on throughout the year, then Westfield might suit you better. There are so many young families in Westfield, and it's quite easy to find both mommy-and-me playgroups and classes. If commuting to NYC is a consideration, both Glen Rock and Westfield have similar commute times. One positive change about the train in Westfield is that they've added some direct trains (off peak hours, though) to and from NYC, whereas all trains to and from Glen Rock require a changeover in Secaucus.
Good luck!!

All Glen Rock trains go to (and from) Hoboken without a change where you can transfer to the PATH or a ferry to get to downtown Manhattan. If you want to get to NY Penn Station you do need to switch in Secaucus.
It also depends upon where do you work and where do you commute to. I have a realtor friend who will be happy to help you. PM me to give you the details.
