I want to give a Thank you gift for a recruiter is Morristown who helped me land a new job. I was thinking Edible Arrangements, however the reviews are horrible.

I would prefer something that the whole office can enjoy. But fruit baskets and that sort of stuff seem trite.

Any ideas? Needs to be a place that will deliver to Morristown.

I am out of ideas, well actually I never really had any ideas :-)

Thanks!!

Edible Arrangement is a fruit basket. Send them cash in an envelope.

Generally recruiters make 30-40% of your annual salary by placing you, so generally they take you out after you land a job.

My exact thought when I read this.

Would you buy a car salesman a gift for selling you a car?

Agree with the above posters. The recruiters made a killing by placing you in your positions. If you really feel you need to - Dunkin' Donuts. Quick and cheap. The office staff will appreciate it.

Forgot to mention. I previously recruited people to work in my company. As I am not a recruiter, I received a bonus ranging from 1-5k. I felt obliged to take the people out (drinks, lunch or dinner). Based on my experience, the recruiter should give you a gift.

Well I apologize in advance for ignoring most people's advice.

Yes recruiters may get a nice commission every now and then, but it's a cut throat business. More often than not when a company has an open position to fill they send it out to tons of agencies all scrapping to fill one position. The odds are stacked against any one agency from the get-go.

They have to put in a lot of hard work in hopes of landing someone a job. And there are so many obstacles--even if the company offer someone a position there are so many things that can still go wrong in the process; person already found a job on their own or through another agency; failed background check, etc. It's a scrappy business. Some companies won't even pay commission for a direct hire until after that person has been there for a year.

So I ordered the "Warm Morning Breakfast" from Hapgoods

Once again I appreciate everyone's advice!
