Was wondering what the best state park (no hiking) in NJ is for fall foliage? Will be traveling with baby, so ideally no hiking, excessive walking. Would great if there's a high point that's accessible by car. Thanks!

Fall colors are typically if not always brighter close to water, especially in dryer years like this one or years where it is warmer than normal. Hacklebarney State Park and Ken Lockwood Gorge are great options for short, pleasant Autumn walks. If you'd like to view fall colors from a ridge, Jenny Jump SF is a good option, park at the office and walk right up the summit trail to a series of nice viewpoints overlooking Great Meadows and the Delaware Water Gap (not a long or hard walk). Don't discount the idea of going to the Pine Barrens, the understory of blueberry and huckleberry tends to be fire engine red and the contrast with the evergreens, sugar sand and tannin-stained water is phenomenally beautiful. The trails behind Batsto Village, including the Mullica River Wilderness trail (a longer walk but worth it), are spectacular in the fall. Other Pine Barrens options include Pakim Pond, with a nice nature loop around it and generally nice walking in the area, and Turkey Swamp Park, which is predominately oak-pine forest, giving an even different mix of colors. Enjoy!
