I'm looking for bus routes with no transfers that go directly from Atlantic City to Newark NJ and back. The only bus I've been able to find is the 319. On weekends, it leaves Newark at 9:42 AM and it leaves Atlantic City at 4:25 AM.
These times seem extremely odd to me and I'm not sure why they don't have more direct lines that go there. If I walk around Atlantic City from the casino to the bus terminal at 4:00 AM, is it relatively safe?
this is why there should be a direct train line from newark to AC. One that bypasses philly entirely. Its takes 3 hours going from newark to ac through philly. They need to extend the rail line from bayhead.
IDK. They have dozens of routes that go to terminal central in NY. What about the people who actually live in this state? We can't take advantage of the cheap trips? We have to go out of our way up to NYC, and then across Philly? They are just making people drive at that point. If you're a family, it'll be quicker and cheaper to drive.
As a single guy who lives by myself and gets to AC at least once every three months. I don't mind the odd times, but I'm sure people up here would appreciate more options.

I'm not a fan of AC so I never go there. But aren't there lots of charter bus options that go there? I always see casino bus trips advertised in churches, community centers, etc.
I was looking online at old NJ maps from the 1800's this past week and I think there used to be some trains back then but more along the lines of down through central NJ such as Lakewood then further South to A.C.
Knowing the geography and realities of trying to get anything built and especially along the coast that would just a waste of people marching around with signs, but i recently even saw online pics of some old RR sections down thru what we all call the Pinies or Pine Barrens.

Look at the 67 bus schedule and it shows a few trips where you would board a 319 bus to NYC and then transfer in Toms River to a express 67 bus to Newark.(avoid the reg 67 trips as they go up route 9 and make local stops to Old Bridge} and then Newark

I am sure you are one that complains when your taxes go up to support wasteful things like this

Best option is to sign up for a "casino trip". The casinos run them constantly. Usually you pay $XYZ, and then get $XYZ spending money back. Depending on what $XYZ is in newark (it is around $25 in cherry hill), it might be worth it. Sometimes the $XYZ is for gambling, and sometimes it is for food
Also greyhound runs trips, but I think most might have transfers
