I've been living in Manhattan for over 10 years, currently in Harlem. I was thinking of moving next year to help my parents out in central NJ. I'm ready for the change also. I also have a car and would like to live somewhere less congested with easy parking. I've done the downtown Jersey City and Hoboken areas in the past and have no desire to go back. I don't plan on changing my job in NYC. I work mornings and nights so prefer an easy walk to the train station. I was thinking maybe South Orange? Any ideas/recs would be appreciated!

Have you considered the more suburban areas? Brunswick and surroundings?

hi all,

my budget is around $2000 if possible. Ideally wanted a short commute to NYC and live in a nice community with easy access to a grocery store (but not a deal breaker as I will have my car). Brunswick areas are longer commute than I wanted. thanks!

Madison, Chatham, Summit, Maplewood and Millburn are quaint awesome towns on the NJ Transit line. Check them out.
