Since the original post is from eight years ago, better check to see if it's still valid.

But if it is...I might take the ride myself.

I haven't had a decent pierogi in thirty years.

I have. My S.O.'s sister made a huge batch and froze them and we had a good supply. Last week I saw a Polish perogi stand. I didn't get them but I saw the ones they were selling, and I regret not ordering them.

Please note that Pierogi is the correct plural form of Pierog. "Pierogies" is twice redundant.

Well, Americans are fond of saying that they want "a panini" , rather than correctly stating that they want a panino, and the same folks probably also err by saying that they want "a cannoli" , rather than a canolo. Similarly, a lot of folks ask for "raviolis" , even though "ravioli" is the plural form of raviolo.

With that much everyday abuse of the Italian language, it shouldn't be too surprising that Americans also misuse the Polish language.

I didn't know that. Now I am smarter than when I woke up this morning.
