Seems you have a hard time understanding the stay in shelter announced by the Governors of NY and NJ.

So if there is an area and there is no virus but now comes the summer home owner from NYC and there is virus ,who's is at fault? Touching the rails of the boardwalk or spreading it in the local grocery store or gas station? Owning the home doesn't give you the right to possible endanger others.

Manhattan gets tourists all year, but in summer it was noticeably worse.

But, those tourists also brought money into the city, and they weren't going to go away, so you just had to put up with it.

And if somebody parks in your spot, you can always flatten their tires. I don't think that's against the law in Jersey, is it?
Only if someone sees you.

an order that doesnt mean anything. we dont have to stay in a place. however, if you are in one place and drive to another place to shelter in place; that is not only your right but not very inconsistent with the order.

geographic areas dont have the right to keep out homeowners even if they think that keeping everyone out will spare them from the disease. they have to deal with what comes to them just like any other place deals with it.

Because those who were traveling were going about things in normal fashion. Now that that has changed, there is no difference between staying home in one house than in another. You’re still keeping away from everyone else.

But they weren’t staying home in those second homes. Like I said, in Ocean City they were treating it as a vacation. These are their vacation homes, after all. The fact that they weren’t staying in their house and the beach and boardwalk head near summer crowds, resulted in him having to close the beach and the boardwalk for everyone. And the people from New York City, were supposed to be self quarantining for 14 days if they left the state, but they were not doing that for the most part.

If you go to another location, quarantine for 14 days in that new place to be sure you do not have the virus, then you are being responsible.
A 3 day vacation is not the same thing. Think about the person who has to clean that rental. Think about the next people who rent it. What happens if someone in your family gets sick or has a (non covid) emergency? If you yourself are still working outside your home it doubley risky.
Why don’t you move your family, for the long haul, to a more comfortable environment? Renting in Bergen county towns are popular for city families. There is a 3 month minimum for the towns around me and I hear that families are renting furniture for these empty houses. If they are critical workers they can drive in to the city and avoid public transportation. It’s an expensive option but it might work with some budgets considering that camp, summer vacations, other discretionary expenses are cut. Its going to be a long summer.

No you're not and only a fool would think so.
