I'm looking to potential purchase a small lake house, and came across the Highland Lake area. Seems like there are a number of houses available, and prices seem reasonable. Is there a reason there are so many for sale?
Also, does anyone have information about the lake itself - is it safe to use/swim in, does it get excessively, crowded, is it used just by residents, or is it a public lake that other people visit?
I was originally looking in upstate NY, but this area came up in my search, and the prices seem more reasonable, so I was curious to know more.
