I guess it depends on what you need to make it for, then.

I just checked, encouraged by your finding, and, still, my service (as well as some others) it still says "0 appointments available."

Maybe you got lucky. I was asked to book an appointment for someone I know is older and doesnt know how to use a computer well. There were no appointments in the entire state for roughly 4 weeks out in the entire state. We wound up finding an obscure timeslot on a Wednesday after 2 weeks out and they had to drive 2 hours each way to south jersey to get an appointment.

Just to clarify, you had to check for appointments for two weeks?

They told me "Look at like 9 to 10 o'clock at night".. I feel like I got lucky, for the service that I need, I got one of what was, what, 59 appointments that was down to about 45 before I even got out of the building, to 22 later that day, to now zero... Details are in first post of thread.

Again, they were doing the same service in the next room over for the windows, but...... Nope, beauracracy.

It's common knowledge it's easier to get appointments in south Jersey, less populated. North Jersey needs more sites to choose from.

I remember when they first reopened, people from north were traveling down to Cape May to get into a DMV. so a 2 -3 hour drive to get you license or car work done.

Yep, the appointment was in Egg Harbor and she lived in North Jersey.

We spent about a week and a half looking at appointments (this was mid-July), we finally got an appointment 2 weeks out when we were looking which was early August.

South NJ was the only place that really had any...

Real time screenshot, right now:

As you can see.. Some are plentiful, some remain a steady 0.

The MVC needs another complete overhaul. Yes it exists for the purpose of records but its also a Government pool of waste.

Inspections need to disappear. When they were checking on vehicle wear and tear it made sense, but now they just check emissions which was kept to "retain jobs" but its completely worthless.

Vehicle registration is just a use tax. Why does it need to be completed annually in NJ? Most states are 2, 4, 6 or 10 years. This would alleviate 50% of the traffic.

Also just as a pet-peeve, those new license plates that are printed flat on the license. Do you think we did them because they were easier to make or cheaper? They actually cost more printed to make than the embossed plates. 3M sold the machines to the MVC and someone in the state got a pretty good kickback for it.
