Been looking to move for quite a while. I'm in PA now (Delaware County) and haven't had much luck looking around Chester County. Was driving through South Jersey recently and it looked nice. I know taxes are high, but was just curious others thoughts on how Washington Twp, Cherry Hill, Logan Twp, etc are to live? Safe areas? Good communities? Schools?

Thanks

I'm down by Washington Township, if you mean the one in Gloucester county. Nice town, supposedly great schools. I hear taxes are pretty high but you're in a decent area.

Williamstown should be considered too. It's about 35 minutes from Thomas Jefferson if you live on the high school side of town which is close to a lot of shopping. You can go to Williamstown or Turnersville Walmart, you have Shop Rite in Williamstown, Sewell and Sicklerville, plus Acme is right by the shop rites in Sewell and Sicklerville plus Targets in 2 locations, Lowes and Depot plus Old Navy, Michaels and all sorts of other shopping like 5 below, Sam's club, Marshalls, then Burlington Coat and Khols are right on the pike. Wawa all over Williamstown.

For doctors I use Rowan in Washington Township, or go to their Stratford office which isn't that far, about 20 minutes. If you lived on the side of Williamstown by the Williamstown Walmart then it's a little longer to drive to everything but Walmart. My daughter lives on that side of town. The high school side is the most for convenience. IMO Williamstown high school side has way more stuff then living in Washington township. Schools are decent too. My grandson is getting a great education in the elementary. So far his teachers have been great. He's in 3rd right now.

The one not so great is the hospital you'd use in either town which is Kennedy renamed to Jefferson I think. There are a lot of urgent care offices.

Are you in a hurry to move or no? Lots of new housing going to be going up in Williamstown on the high school side on Tuckahoe Road. I think there are 3 or 4 developments going up. It also goes by Monroe Township if you google to find who's building. Off the top of my head I don't know which builders, if you're interested in knowing, send me a message in case I don't get back here. My house goes live on realtor.com today, it will be a busy week with showings. We already have one offer.

What are you looking to spend on the house plus what kind of taxes? On something like a $400k house, taxes would be about $12k in Williamstown. I've heard Washington Township is higher for taxes.

Williamstown when there was no COVID regularly does things like fire works at the high school field, they have all sorts of other things there too, Easter Egg hunts, parades so the township does give back to it's tax payers.

There is a play ground at the high school, there is also one about a mile away that's handicap accessible, done a few years ago with another bigger one a few more miles away in Hunter Woods. Tip, stay away from Fries mills road, if you were to find something at Hunter Woods. Fries mills gets really backed up. Tuckahoe going toward 322 can get bad when the high school lets out at 2 something but you just avoid it by leaving earlier. Fries Mills road is bad at all sorts of times of the day, even when people are at work.

Tons of pharmacies too for Williamstown, CVS on Fries Mill, one on the pike, Walgreens and 2 Rite Aids plus shop rite.

Williamstown has a Facebook group called Williamstown/Monroe township talk if you have questions. I bet those other towns have one too. That's probably your best bet for answers

One of the Tuckahoe Road builders is Ryan homes from the $300's. The other 2 do not have signs up. That's in Williamstown.

All I'm seeing on their website is Hamilton Greene which is town homes and not it.

I looked on a map, Hamilton Greene is correct, it starts on Main street, comes out to Tuckahoe. Big place, town homes.
