The price of everything keeps getting higher and higher. Property taxes, car insurance, food, rent, health care etc....I wonder how people manage to keep up??
I for one have not got a raise in 3 years...I was wondering if you all get yearly raises? How do you manage? Have you had to cut many things out to get by?
CJ my dh hasnt gotten a raise in 3 years then was laid off and then wound up taking a HUGE HUGE pay cut and well needless to say we arent making it anymore like we did, so we are moving on...Union county NC..cant wait
Me and my mom are planning a move to NC as well probably Cary or Apex. I am so sad to leave my family behind but its time to make a fresh start and finally own a home. I hope its not a mistake.

...exactly the same story here...no raise...across the board for almost 4 years , then they laid off 3/4 of us over a 18 month period and out sourced to India. That after 33 years. gee thanks for nothing...Self employed now...rather than do a restart I'm taking the opportunity to get the He$$ outta NJ. Looking forward to leaving ...
Man, 3-4 years with no raises? That's some tough industries you all are working in.
With the commercial construction industry still booming here, our company does yearly increases every July (as do most of the bigger contractors it seems). They're typically at least cost-of-living adjustments (3-4%), with many doing much better than that. It's not unusual for 5-7% increases to be given out- even higher if you get a promotion or do a good job on a project.
No raise in 2 years. I was even relocated from PA to NJ with no cost of living increase in pay. Found out that everything, from rent to car insurance, is 20% more expensive here. I was told basically to suck it up, and accept it if I wanted to keep my job. I like my job, but the pay is decent for PA, bad for NJ cost of living. I'm looking at taking a job in upstate NY, so I can actually afford my own home.
sorry JB yes its dear hubby or Damn Hubby depends on wht day it is...LOL....
