Perhaps. But a choice between a guy who definitely says he will raise taxes versus a guy who says he won't, I'll take the guy who says he won't.

At least I can hope that if McCain does raise taxes, it will be as a last resort and a smaller tax increase.

Depends which McCain shows up - the one who said Bush's tax cuts were 'irresponsible' or the one who 'supports' them.

There's a difference between supporting further tax cuts and simply supporting the status quo and holding taxes as-is.

Sure, eight years ago McCain did not want to cut taxes, he thought they should be left alone. That doesn't mean that now, nearly a decade later, he needs to support the idea of raising taxes.

Taxpayers have adjusted to the current tax levels, and with the economy hurting the last thing we need to do is pile more taxes on. 250K per year for a family with children is not wealthy in NJ by any stretch of the imagination, and Obama wants to increase taxes on those people.

Government already takes enough of my money, and wastes it like only the government can. No thanks. Nobama.

250K for a family with children doesn't quailfy a person a weathly, but better off than maybe 95% of the people in this country? Yes. I hate raising taxes, but hell after these last 8 years, it's time for the upper class to pony-up. Besides, if you're making over 250K a year, you shouldn't be living in a area that is saturated with mutimillionairs. Not everone can keep up with the Joneses'. Instead of "struggling" to live in Ridgewood, you may be better off in Ridgefield. Now that is TRUE economic conservatisim.

Well, I don't consider 250K to be "upper-class" in NJ. Maybe upper-middle class, but not upper-class.

Who said I was? There are plenty of towns much cheaper than Ridgewood (e.g. South Orange, median house price of $539,300 and taxes are insane already!) that make 250K a far cry from "upper class" around here.

I have seen enough govt waste during my time in consulting to know where all that tax money is going. They don't need more of it. If Obama wants to tax the "rich" he should set the bar higher, at some level that truly is "wealthy" in all parts of the county, not just bumbleheck Iowa.

Bottom line: NJ residents are overtaxed as it is, and Obama will raise our taxes even more. And I'm not buying it.

I'll take the one who doesn't want to hold me up for even more of my hard-earned money. I'm not working my tail off to pay for some lazy govt employees and line the pockets of fat cat contractors.
