I have read many helpful threads and appreciate the great advice this forum offers. I am hoping for a bit more specific advice...
I have a different situation than most. I work in NJ, but am seeking transportation to NYC off-peak times (nights and weekends). Unfortunately, commuting options in NJ from/to NYC at night are quite limited!
I am a young, single, female considering a small purchase (~250-325K) in an area that would allow reliable transportation to/from NYC nights and weekends. Considering my budget, I have been looking in West New York (50th St to 67th St; between Blvd East and Bergenline Ave). Also Guttenberg, North Bergen (near Hudson Park), Cliffside Park, Bayonne, and possibly Union City.
Any opinions as to the best options? I like urban areas, but I do need to be safe walking home alone at night. Also considering the safety and reliability of the transportation itself (bus or light-rail)
Other things to consider: I drive to central NJ for work. Hoping for a nice neighborhood for single professionals and perhaps the possibility of investment potential.
Thanks in advance!!
