I have a feeling the hospital screwed up and disposed of the body to cover something up. If it was a mistake that is one really big mistake. As for her waiting so long it could be one of a few reasons that come to mind. I feel bad for her.

In todays Jersey Journal it says the baby might have been incinerated in a dump in Kentucky.

Who would leave a stillborn baby in the morgue for two weeks?
If she was going to have a funeral, cremation, wouldn't it be attended to sooner?

This is just too sad. It's one thing to lose the baby and now to have to fight to find him and get him back for a funeral is quite another.

I feel so sorry for this woman.

If you are reffering to the amount of time it took to pick up the body for the funeral I have a few theories. The most likley is since the mother said the baby was born alive she was waiting on word from the lawyer. The hospital put the baby was stillborn on the death certificate so she was already planning on suing and/or having an autopsy done to determine cause of death. The second is financial reasons many poor families have funerals a week or two later. The third would be not wanting or not being able to deal with it during the holidays. It might be one or a combination of these reasons why she waited.

One thing is certain, the hospital lost the baby's body. It was their job to take care of the deceased, just like any patient who passes away in that facility. They failed to do that. They have to be held accountable, and the way to do that is to sue them. The punishment everyone understands (especially corporate entities) is having to pay damages. They would not care otherwise.
