Why are so many people quick to make judgement on a town when they don't live that particular town?

Somebody please help me to figure this one out.

NO LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those people are the ones that talk about the people on their block, then invite them to a cook-out to gossip about the ones that not there..

I stay away from people like that because those them do not want to see you happy or succeed.

An abnormallly high sense of self-worth?

I hear/read stuff all the time about my town, lumped in with generalities and non-specific comments that are grossly exagerrated or flat-out incorrect.

All then evidence and arguments to the contrary won't change their minds (that would be admitting they were incorrect <GASP>), so I just ignore them.

You know, glass houses and all...

?? people can't have thoughts about a place in which they don't live? I certainly have (well-informed) opinions about various towns throughout the state, many of which I've never lived. Are you saying I can't voice my opinion?

yes when you don't live there, pass through, visiting is not the same as living there

I try not to comment unless I live there, have lived there, or know someone who lives there.

well, i've never lived in Chester, although I have a very good idea of what it's like to live there considering I've been in the area 18 years. But, I guess I can't comment. However, I CAN comment on Westfield since I know someone who lives there, even though I have no flipping clue about the place.

I'm sorry but last time I checked, we have the right to free speech. Why does one care? If you like your town...great! Enjoy it!

I will voice my opinion about a town if asked though...sorry, off you go!
