NYC accessible suburb near Short Hills, NJ

Hi,

I wanted to update my status on this post. I have looked at Maplewood and South Orange and they are very nice. Unfortunately, my girlfriend will be unable to secure a transfer to her office in Short Hills, so I will be moving to the area myself. This gives me a little flexibility since I will only have to be in the Woodcliff Lake office occasionally. I am looking for someplace reasonable where I do not have to pay too much of a premium for off street parking. I was thinking of maybe renting a studio for around 700-800 per month, paying no more than 1000 total with parking. Any suggestions. A friend mentioned White Plains as another possibility b/c of the Metro North

Since I no longer have to worry about being close to Short Hills, I was hoping that there might be a town closer to my office in Woodcliff lake that also had weekend train service to NYC. Millburn is nice but it does not put me any closer to my office and is further from NYC. Thanks for the suggestion. Any other thoughts?

I agree; you'll probably like SO. There are new rentals across from the train in Morristown. Easy access to 287 to get to Woodcliff Lake and 10 minutes from Short Hills.
My advice is if you're going to be in NYC late, drive in.
