I was wondering whether or not anyone could give me some info on Arlington Avenue. I know that a lot of previously dangerous areas of JC have improved in the last few years, so I don't want to go by posts that are several years old to make my judgment.

My husband and I have a 1 year old son and safety is our top priority.

I found a nice apartment in the area and wanted to know what some locals had to say. Right now we live in downtown JC but we need more space.

Thanks!

If safety is priority 1, a big NO. You will have Bloods or Crips sitting on your porch all day long.

Why not go to that area and ask the locals? Doesn't hurt to ask , but that area is pretty dangerous. There are some areas near Journal SQ that are safer and have what you might be looking for.

You answered your own question......the last thing they need to do is go around that neighborhood asking questions...if they get away with just being robbed they should consider themselves very lucky

It's a dam shame I lived on that block up until 5th grade between Claremont & Myrtle I think..very nice area ..used to walk to school at Sacred Heart back when it was Jackson Ave not MLK Drive

Nice homes & apts.....what a shame

Yes its a dam shame that south of Journal SQ hasn't cleaned up like the rest of the city. I hate to say this against my own race , but non-integrated Black people fall into crime & drugs. Unlike there Integrated Bi-Racial counterparts......slowly Bergen-Layette and Greenville will clean up but it will take decades.....
