You can get animal urine at hunting supply stores. I think you can get it from a predator that can scare them, it keeps deer away.
Chicken wire for the fencing. You could always trap them or find their den and have a bar b Q. Some localities animal control have live traps for removing animals w/o killing them, if that bothers you. You could also by a live trap. Good Luck I'm fighting off my slugs and snails here. I never thought they could eat so much until I got my own place and garden.
There isn't much to deter rabbits. One day I went outside, saw one chewing on my tender own root rose, I started trying to scare him out.. sucker wouldn't go away. I eventually find there were 2.
I ended up taking rose pots, cutting out the bottom and sliding it over the plant & it works.
The funny thing, they haven't touched the veggies out back, just my roses & lilies.
Hubby did fence the veggies but it has a large opening. I now wonder if they can't figure out how to get in.
He says they won't eat tomato & peppers. What are you finding eaten? Sure it isn't a squirrel?

The 3" onions were gone in 2 days, the corn is getting shorter and shorter, so does the squash and a few tomato plants.
The raddish is untouched.
I was thinking to plant lettuce, but I'll wait until I have a fence around.
Chicken fencing seems to be the way to go

Or just invite a few dozen friends over for a BBQ - feed them beer all night long and tell them that the bathroom is out of order and then point them in the direction of your garden
Short of buying a shotgun or putting up a fence, are there other remedies to prevent Rabbits and probably other animals from feeding of my freshly planted vegetables?
Somebody mentioned dried blood?
There are products sold at garden centers etc specifically for preventing rabbits and deer from eating your plants and shrubs. My brother lives in upstate N.Y. and has used this product successfully.

I put up chicken wire and they still got in. What you gotta do is electrify the fence, not too many amps unless you want to kill them. Just attach a cable hooked directly from a source in your house (usually 125 volts at 5-25 amps) they will get zapped a few times than they'll get the message and stay away. They will then tell all the other rabbits to stay away. So you see if you just kill them from the start they wont be able to spread the word to the other rabbits to stay away. Who has time to stand around killing rabbits all day anyway?
