Me and my boyfriend are moving to new jersey this fall. I am going to school in madison and he will be traveling to various towns within new jersey. we are 22 and 23 and wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions about good places to live where there is a lot going on and a good night life. half hour from madison would be nice. some towns he will be traveling to is linden, edison and woodbridge. Any suggestions would be very helpful!
morristown is a great little town. lots to do and not far to ny by train. also, madison is awesome. so is chatham. really, any of the towns around there are nice. but for night life, i think morristown is your best bet. good luck.
I was in a very similar situation back in the mid 1970's and we found a house to rent in a nice part of Morristown. It was for sale for about $50,000 but no one was even looking at houses back then.
Don't know what the costs are but Summit would also do the trick.
One word about Morristown and Morris County, don't get involved with the County court system, they will take everything you have so the lawyers can fill there Mercedes with gas. All they need is your name.

In your situation, definitely Morristown. Most of the other towns will prove to be more suburban and expensive with little or no night life. You can get to a lot of towns in a half hour from Madison. Morristown is a quick car or train commute to Drew, Fairleigh or St. Elizabeth's.
