Hi! I'm moving from Europe to the Princeton area to work there from Sep-Dec 2009. So I'm looking for a furnished 2 bedroom flat for 2 adults. Any suggestions as to how to go about finding it?

Various 'corporate housing' websites only offer almost hotel style accommodation. I would like to live like a local resident. Which areas are nice to live in? (We have a car).

(We love the great outdoors but also need access to a local library for research purposes, a climbing wall and healthy food supplies).

Try Oakwood. I stayed at one of their properties in Philadealphia and it was like a normal apartment. It looks like they have a property in princeton. Unfortunately, I don't see any climbing gyms super close to you in princeton which is sort of a surprise. Looks like New Brunswick might be the closest. There's also one in Morganville and one in Maple Shade. All are more than 1/2 hour away. I've never been to any of these but have been numerous times to Go Vertical in Philadelphia and NJ Rock Gym in Fairfield (north NJ).

If you are a student or faculty at Princeton you can use the climbing wall at the University.

There is also a new library on Witherspoon St. in Princeton-http://www.princetontwp.org/librarymain.html

The Whole Earth Center on Nassau St carries a fair selection of organic food-http://www.localharvest.org/food-coops/M25485

Thanks for the links. Unfortunately we're not faculty or students. I guess I can contact the uni and ask if they accept 'guests' at the climbing wall...

Is there a local paper where locals might post their furnished flats for rental - or does this usually go through websites or real estate agents in the US?

Check Princeton News - [domain blocked due to spam] and The Princeton Packet Centraljersey.com | Central Jersey News,Princeton Breaking News Sports, Entertainment, Obits, Homes, Jobs, Cars, Classifieds, Real Estate, Princeton News, Dining,Princeton Dining, The Princeton Packet

Unfortunately there are a limited number of rentals in Princeton. Your best shot might be to contact one of the local real estate companies.

That's going to be hard to impossible to find for only three months. You could try the website Craigs List, maybe under sublets. Your best options are the corporate extended stay places. Honestly, even in an extended stay corporate place, you'll be fine and get a taste of the environment, as long as you have a car to get out and explore. Enjoy your stay!
