This info should help NJ with future unemployment extensions.

Just FYI -- this is not the official number set to be released by the federal government on August 21. It is a number leaked by NJ government officials in an interview to demonstrate their belief that joblessness is slowing in NJ.

We'll see if the feds provide the same unemployment rate for New Jersey for July on Friday -- as the federal number is the one that will be used in determining eligibility for further extensions of benefits.
