good info, thanks
And the idea is not to kill the bugs, since they provide a significant benefit to farmers by eating pest bugs, including scales, aphids and adelgids, Mayer said. An adult ladybug can eat up to 270 aphids a day and each larva can consume up to 1,200 during its development, according to Cornell University Cooperative Extension. They have been in New Jersey for about 20 years, Mayer said.
“They apparently have decided that New Jersey is a nice place to live,” he said

obviously they don't pay taxes

We have a contract with Terminex on our new house and when I called yesterday about a problem with spiders they said they were being swamped with ladybug swarm problem calls. We don't have them at all, I guess the gigantic wolf spiders around and in (eek) my house are eating them. I took photos of the spider in my house, I wish I could post it here it was huge!!

This is a serious case of discrimination!!! Stink Bugs are ugly and stink when you squish them but do not bite or eat your home and every one is up in arms "down with stink bugs!". Lady bugs stink if you squish them, don't bite or eat your home but because they are pretty we should give them a break?!?! Unbelieveable!

I'm just kidding BTW, but it is funny how humans tend to have mercy on things if they are "cute" or "pretty" and no mercy when things are "ugly".

Nah, I just know they eat baddies.

I feel bad when I squish a spider (the tiny wolf spiders are really kind of cool! )

Wow, this is interesting. I have not seen swarms of lady bugs down here in South Jersey (Cumberland County) and I live in the woods! (pine barrens) Maybe our giant birds are eating them all?? What we do have are bunches of big daddy-long-leg spiders--really big ones all over the doors, porches, and plants. They're pretty harmless except when you reach for them doorknob and grab them instead (just soft and yucky and a little inconvenient).

Wow , i also saw many ladybugs the other day but i think it is ridiculous that people would exterminate ladybugs. They are harmless to people actually are very helpful to us.
