WNJN - Ch 50 - although for some odd reason in their photo montage of notable points of interest in NJ, they show the Statue of Liberty and the subtitle reads "Liberty State Park, NJ" and totally leave out Jersey City.
For that offense I roll my eyes and suck my teeth at you NJN/Ch. 50!!!! -(although I still watch it anyway )
NJN is a statewide network of 4 high power UHF stations and also a statewide network of lower power FM stations.
I've personally been to the top of the 900 or 1000 foot tower near Bakers Basin going back into the 70's.
They have big main TV transmitters in Trenton, Waterford Works, New Brunswick, which is actually around Warren in the Watchung Mountains, and Montclair.
One of the TV rigs, either Montclair or Warren/New Brunswick was or is going to move to 4 Times Square also. As you might guess I'm in the biz, the Chief Engineer of a different TV station.

From what I remember in the biz side of news "NBC 40" was sold to Locust Point Networks and ended its affiliation with NBC, mostly I think Locust Point bought it to participate in the country wide TV auction that the FCC is currently in round 2 of.
Almost all TV stations were given an offer of maybe $120 million if they sold into the auction, then the gov't would auction that spectrum off to various cellular phone companies and repack the remaining TV channels into the remainder of the TV spectrum.
Supposed to generate about $83 billion countrywide, but you and me eventually pay for all of it through our cell phone bills as I see it.
