What are you guys comparing the quality of our NJ buses and trains to? The NJ Transit trains and buses are far better than some others that I've rode on, in other areas of the country. What are you comparing to??
The highest ridership? The Northeast Corridor has by far more riders than any other line. It's not even close.
Yea it does I once looked it up. And the Coastline corridor has the 2nd highest ridership.. all those north jersey ones come after. The double deckers are used during peak hours.

Personally I found the New Jersey Transit buses to be far better than the old Private Bus Lines (NYC) and most of the MTA Buses I ride but that's just me.
The trains are like luxury coaches compared to the subway. I think they're fine. We have plenty of other things we can spend tax money on or better yet- give it back to the taxpayers!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd go the other way around. I'd FAR rather ride the subway, than a bus anytime.
A number of new train cars have been put into service over the past few months. The new double-deckers are on the Bergen/main lines, probably because it has the highest ridership.
I just switched to the NJ Coast line, and the equipment is pretty old and jerks around a lot.
The Bay Head line gets new multi-level train cars!
Bay Head is part of North Jersey Coast, right? The trains that go from Bay Head are unlike most of the other lines in that they are diesel-powered rather than electric. So there's always a snag there because of that - and they also can't go directly into NYC.
I've seen the double-deckers on the Northeast Corridor as well.

Bay Head is Diesel , but the New Diesels can Haul Double Deckers. Sometime this decade the Rest of North Jersey Coast line (Long Branch - Bay Head) will be Electrified , along with the Rest of the Morris & Essex Line , Future Lackawanna line , possible Raritan Valley line and maybe the Main line? Also NJT has order Dual Electric - Diesel Trains to prepare for when the ARC opens , so the Diesel lines can have trains go into NYC.
