I dont want to refile. I already know the first 20 week extension is automatic but I have an unusual situation due to working a part time job causing my weeks vs net check to not align exactly. I have a technical question that needs to be answered as it looks like I will get $7 for my last unemployment week on the first 26 weeks. Yes as in one penny more than $6.99. This is a $400+ loss that is quite devastating especially after buying oil this week.

Fast busy always. Ive been to the local office. Their technical knowlege is near zero.

To actually answer your question there's several reasons why its always busy. I have never called the Unemployment office in New Jersey and not had to redial, redial, redail,. This step is normally repeated until you have gotten a ring, instead of "Due to the large amount of calls, we cannot take your call. Please, call back when... blah blah"(If you haven't hung up in the middle of the first sentence, you're wasting time.) Anyway, after you get through, you will have to wait 45 minutes, until your call is actually patched through to a human. The system is designed to filter out people with stupid questions and issues that aren't worth answering. They figure, if its not worth redialing seven thousand four hundred and sixty three times, and waiting forty five minutes to discuss, then it must not be too important.

THAT is the real answer. New Jersey doesn't care about its citizens

Ironic thing is, I could be spending the wasted 45 minutes and number of call backs looking for employment...
