I have NJM and haven't seen anything yet. We'll see.

Funny story: A few months back a lady made an illegal turn and hit my car. Turns out she had NJM as well, but not the "real" NJM. She was in the state pool of bad drivers and she got assigned NJM as her insurance company. I still got my deductible back, however.

All in all, they had great service and took care of me nicely through the whole situation. My car is now good as new sitting right outside.

Rates would rise somewhat with a new car purchase. The value of the potential lose is much greater. Newer cars have multiple airbags which along cost thousands to replace.

Anyone else get "the letter"?
My policy is up in September. Guess I'll find out in August.

As you stated, their rates are low plus with the dividend check they're the best game in town, imo.

the new car has nothing to do with the rate increase - i mentioned it merely to convey I don't know exactly how much percentage-wise it rose. i got a letter that says "NJM raises rates first time in 14 years" - doesn't get much clearer than that, LOL.

Just asking..what the hell is NJM????

Driving over 40 years in NJ and only had Allstate if its a insurance company.

Worst one I ever deal with was GEICO ..they dropped all policys and left NJ back in early 70's..suprised they were allowed back into NJ.
Allstate did go too from NJ..but it was split..and NJ Allstate agents saved all policys to this day.

I was going to get them, but they asked sooo many questions and turned out to be sooo nosy, I just never got back to them. I''m eligible through my work.

I remember having Geico waay back in the 70's, had a Jaguar and I think the insurance was about $125 a year back then.

A rate increase ...no. Your policy cost going up...yes. The collision rate is based on the potential value of the loss. The other areas are not affected.
