Does anyone on here know where you can buy the flags that you stick in the ground on a grave?

My grandmother used to do this and I never asked where she got them from. She passed on Thanksgiving and made me promise to never forget her or my grandfather's graves for holidays. Like I could forget....

Anyone who can point me in a good direction, I'll greatly appreciate it.

Most cemetaries have florists nearby, and they usually have the flags and other typical items you find at graves.

In what part of the state are you looking?

The local VFW or American Legion can probably assist. The cemetary also can probably give you a reference.

If you are in Northern Jersey, Apollo Flags in Totowa has them.

I agree with the suggestion to check with the local VFW or American Legion first. They may actually do a flag placement program around Memorial Day at the cemetery.

Personally, I've used Gates Flag and Banner out of Clifton and been quite satisfied. Here's a link to the type of flag they sell for grave markers.

Walmart carries the small flags around Memorial Day.

I checked Walmart and they only had the 4"X6" flags. Not what I'm looking for.
I never thought to contact a florist. I did find someone close to me that is a member of the VFW. Surprisingly, although my husband is a vet, he doesn't belong to either organization. I'm getting 2 from the VFW for my grandfather and his brother.

I don't want to take them from the VFW each time I want to put them on the graves. They do a lot with the vets graves and shouldn't have to give them out to people like me. I'd feel really bad if some vet's grave went unflagged because I just couldn't find them myself.

I will try the florists and I'm going to look at the name of the flag maker on the flags themselves when I get them today. Maybe I can order them directly? I'll find out.

I'm in Somerset County. Totowa is a bit of a hike, but thanks for the suggestion.

Thank you so much!! I just checked and the 8 x 12 is what I'm looking for. Too late for this holiday, but I will keep them in mind for the next. Do they let you order a couple at a time?

I just bought four 16X11 (prox) at Kmart. They also had smaller, IIRC.

I've gotten them at the supermarket in the florist section as well.

Sometimes Pathmark has them. Sometimes Kohl's has them too. Near 4th of July stock up on them.
