I like Socorro. Everyone I've encountered has been really nice. John Brooks has a candy selection like that available when I was a kid (over by the alcohol). Those Mexican ice cream bars are everywhere. Despite being small, there's the Walmart, and John Brooks has a lot of health food store items. When I've noticed, it's been in the 90s. But my apartment stays cool. Is that because it's adobe?

I don't have a garden. I feel like the sun causes my arms to sizzle though, so I'm glad I don't have to weed.

I'm considering going around, meeting neighbors, setting up a bbq. Or inviting people over for dinner. I'm not a chatty hostess though, I'm a listener. I think you need at least one outgoing chatty person for a good party. So we'll see.

Probably - if it's "authentic" adobe and well constructed. Otherwise you can attribute it to good insulation - also meaning it's well constructed.

You might try buying/wearing a lightweight "guybara" or similar long-sleeve shirt in a light (white) color. Sun block is ALWAYS in vogue in the region - year around, but it won't keep your skin cool - just safe from potential cancers. A comfortable long-sleeve shirt can be quite pleasant to wear in the hot sun, as most hard-working outdoors people have long known.

A far more valuable asset in the opinion of most people. As long as by "listening" you're also expressing a genuine interest in what is being said.

Sounds as if you're adapting very well.
