The campus has actually changed dramatically since then. Lots of new buildings. I personally can't stand that they insist on making the new ones this ridiculous imitation of post-modern style, often even with the same colour schemes on each new addition; it was charming about the first two years they did that.

Some of the old buildings they've alrady upended or outright gotten rid of looked more interesting IMO; that old Brutalist style or that stereotypical old fashioned classroom look. That's why tuition (and your taxes going into the uni) are going up (not to mention what administrators continue to get paid for doing nothing but that's a different story).

Anyways as being a future academic and having been involved there for some years now, it's like you know the ways in which the areas have changes, but it's very difficult to pin it down in your mind as far as drawing up an accurate mental picture. Someone I worked with years back when I was undergrad on ASUNM told me that before 2006 Johnson Field didn't even have lights at night. Boy that must've been the place for women to avoid walking in those days; they didn't have those blue emergency pods then either, and smartphones weren't everywhere.

Since these type of pictures are not easy to just Google and find, and I can't seem to find any old pics I may have taken, I'm asking if anyone here has any from that time. Just would be nice to look at. Thanks much!

The blue emergency phone kiosks I believe were up well before 2000. The lights on Johnson Field were put there so that students could make use of the field for their sports activities in the evening, their primary purpose wasn't safety. If you cross the field at night now you might get tackled by a rugby player, so maybe not that safe.

Exactly. In fact they go off around 10pm or so.
