My husband and I are looking to relocate out of South Florida, where there are currently very few jobs in film and television.

I keep hearing people suggest New Mexico as an alternative to New York or Los Angeles. Apparently, the filming incentives are drawing in big movies and television shows.

I was wondering if anyone knew what cities in New Mexico are good for this industry so I can begin to research them.

Thanks!

Santa Fe is also just now building a new film studio.

The one in ABQ is called Albuquerque Studios.

If you search the New Mexico Film site you will find calls for auditions, film industry jobs, etc.
Home :: Locals :: New Mexico Film (http://www.nmfilm.com/locals/index.php - broken link)

...but it looks like there are only a few casting calls, and no actual industry jobs on this website.

Check other resources - do a search on the web for "film employment and new mexico".

From many of folks I have heard that actor Seth Rogen has an office in Albuquerque ( he filmed Observe and Report there ). Could be a start.

The Albuq film studio has been in the news of late under the threat of foreclosure by its creditor bank. Not sure of the details, but a Google News search should pull up the recent articles on the subject. Here is what may be the most recent:

It must not be doing all that well. Sounds shaky to me. I wish it luck.

There was a recent posting from PRNewswire stating that the Foreclosure was cancelled because the involved parties were working out their differences (whatever that means).

?????

Here's the link:
