Officers for the New Orleans Police Department are going to be tried for allegedly killing 2 unarmed civilians.

Trial Nears In Post-Katrina Bridge Shootings : NPR

At this point, I am hearing many things about what when on in the days after Katrina. There are stories about vigilantes going out and shooting unarmed civilians in Algiers Point(and one of them admitted to doing in to an interviewer claiming no court would convict him). There have also been reports of looting by civilians as well as the police. Some say the police shooting at civilians was self defense. Others say the police did this on purpose.

I'm only guessing by the lack of response, no one wants to talk about it or even think about it.

Maybe because this isn't new news? We have been hearing about it daily for several years now on our news outlets. The words "Danziger Bridge" are uttered more often than "good morning" it seems.

What you're hearing "at this point" we've been hearing for awhile now. What more is there to say?

Thank you Pook.
Coverage of this has been going back to 2007 when the seven police officers first turned themselves in. At this point it's like knows what supposedly, everyone has a good idea of what will come in the end. What is there left to talk about? We're already down to 2 officers out of 7 that didn't plead guilty, it's not like this is some big surprise. I think most people in the city are just ready for justice to be served and this to be over. Most people I know would rather discuss changes within NOPD and their relationship with the public versus talking about something that's pretty much in stone and has been drilled into our heads for the last 4 years.
