...I cant help but think to myself that I wouldn't want any of these people solving my murder. Sheesh!

I am an avid First 48 watcher and New Orleans has by far the most bumbling Police force I have seen on there.
Those gracious men and women of the NOPD seem to be missing a few chromosomes, at worst they are stupid and at best they are indifferent.

Was it just me or did the New Orleans cops on that show come off as slow and inept?

I think the detectives represented the nopd and city well. I can't of a more difficult job than what they have.

You've got to be kidding me?
Did you even watch the show?
The white detective (Tim Bender I think his name was) was about to let the murder suspect walk after he gave him the most asinine excuse ever "of someone drove by and gave me this gun" when he was caught red handed with the murder weapon. The detective actually bought his story and only after he languished with the witness to no avail and on a hunch showed his picture in the lineup-after 3 whole weeks when all of that could have been avoided from the beginning.

Then the black detective who was working the other murder case whole entire strategy consisted of driving around and asking people "say bruh what you know about that murder?" No canvasing the neighborhood, no flyers, just driving around the 'hood and yelling at random people on the street from the car. No suspect no arrest in that case. You would think that with a crime rate so high the police would be a little more advanced than just a another Mayberry PD Like seriously? Way to set the bar high New Orleans.

The whole time I was watching it I couldn't help but think to myself "no wonder they don't solve any murders down there"

That really was sad about what happened to that Carolina girl (Remembered that her name was Ashley Qualls).

I don't mean to sound defeatist, but she walked home the 5 miles or so after midnight through some pretty rough neighborhoods... as a woman walking alone, that was never going to turn out well. She could've gotten away with it a few times but it was a recipe for disaster.

I agree. She shouldve at least gotten a bike to ride home, new or pawn shop
