I read your link but neither the source of the smell or even a description of what it smells like are evident in the article...I'll need to see what those are to comment further

Millions of other people don't seem to mind it. I think somebody is being a giant spoiled baby!

Looks to me like Mr. Cooper did the same mistake so many visitors do - spend most of the time on Bourbon Street.

Even Bourbon Street is over-criticized for this. Sure it has that dead-ass smell at night, but go back next morning and it's like a whole other street.

As many times as I've been there - and we spend time in many other parts of the city - I've never noticed a bad smell anywhere.

In summer around Bourbon or near trashcans by a streetcar stop, of course it smells bad! But no worse than NYC or San Francisco. Most of New Orleans doesn't smell like that.

Of course it'll have a smell if tourist constantly come here, get drunk, puke and **** in the street and leave. Locals don't really do that. They might, but far less than a tourist. He's a clown.

On and around Bourbon Street in the mornings, they send these trucks that are like street sweepers that spread soapy water on the roads. So for a while after, there's literally a few inches of suds along the curb. It's also the time to see the place nearly devoid of foot traffic.

From a distance, the soap suds look almost like some snow had fallen!

They do a pretty good job trying to keep the place clean.
