I'm looking to rent an apartment on Plum and Burdette, New Orleans. Is Plum a safe street to walk to Tulane Univ? What about the general neighborhood around Plum and Burdette?
Thanks

You should be ok walking that area during the day but at night I would be a little cautious about walking alone. The further you get away from S. Claiborne Av. the safer you will be.

I can't say weather the neighborhood is safe or not but I would check with the NOPD (New Orleans Police Department) Crime maps (http://cno-gisweb02.cityofno.com/crimeviewer/ - broken link).

Good luck with your apartment search.

That's a safe area. It might not be as "pretty" once you get past Jeanette St toward Claiborne, but i would have no problem walking through there day or night.
