I hope someone can answer my question as i never really have luck on forums. I was recently contacted for a building. However I was contacted for a studio. If there is a 1 bedroom available and I qualify based on my income and my household size ( me and my toddler) will they offer that to me instead? Or it doesn’t work like that.
I fit the income for both studio and 1 bedroom with a family size of 2.
If you qualify for two sizes of apartment, the marketing guidelines say that you are supposed to be offered a choice. However, the marketing agent would need to have a vacant one-bedroom to offer you. They tend to go fast because they’re not that much more expensive than studios, and people want a one-bedroom for the flexibility and added space.
If you like the building and the location, you could submit your documents and go through the process for the studio and let the agent know that you are hoping that a one-bedroom becomes available. You never know. There could be a unit assigned to someone else, and that person is disqualified for some reason. It happens all the time.
