Hey, I just want to know how long is the waiting period after you submit documents to housing connect. I was asked to submit documents about 6 weeks ago and I still haven’t heard anything back yet. If you’ve been through the process before could you just let me know how long your wait time was after you submitted documents.

There is no set amount of time and it varies a ton by agency and building. I'd say after 6 weeks you should absolutely follow up with the agency and request the status of your file. A lot of people hear something back (usually a request for additional documents or clarifications) within 2-3 weeks of the initial submission but it can be longer even if there isn't anything wrong. My position is that until you know your file is complete (they need nothing additional from you), following up ~weekly is appropriate.
There is not set amount. Some agencies ask a lot of people for documents and then go one by one until they get to you, if there are units available by that time. If you have a low number you won't wait much but if your log is high then prepare to wait for weeks and weeks
Other agencies only work with about 100 log numbers at a time, in the case it usually takes 2-3 weeks, but again it's still not set in stone

Hey, so I called to follow up and they told me that they’re working with the lower log numbers first and they will contact me when they reach mine.

Yes I believe that’s what the agency is doing they work in batches and contact a bunch of people to submit documents then work in order from lower log number first. I called them to follow up and they said that they will. Contact me when they reach my log number. I really hope they contact me soon. I have cb preference and log 4xxx and right now I believe they’re working through the 3000s log numbers.
The minimum length is two weeks because it gives everyone in your batch the same amount of time to submit documents. After that the time can vary greatly. 1 year seems wild to me since I thought they couldn't request documents without a Certificate of Occupancy since one of the buildings I have a low log number won't do it until after the building gets it, but it just might be that agency. Lots of things can hold that process up especially if it's a new build.
One took them within 2 weeks and this other one took 3 months...
