Is there any agency to check the regulated rental prices for a Mitchell Lama.
I moved into one last year and was told $980 for a studio , when i came to sign lease it was 1107.I was told that was for 2ppl? Okay year later i hear from a few tenants that is not the price and i don't want to ask management office as they are terrible and i am concerned HPD will tell them as i am on internal transfer list and do not want any problems.
Any other way to find out.
thanks

I am not sure which Mitchell Lama you reside in but I believe the rents are calculated according to your income.

I agree that can be the case.

Also, it might be hypothetically possible for two different tenants with the same same income signing leases on the same day for studios to have different rents amounts. It could be that tenant 1 has a larger unit and for that difference they pay more rent than tenant 2 does for their smaller studio.

In NYC, there are M-L administrated by City Hall, and other M-L administrated by NY State. First question to answer is which bureaucracy, City or State, oversees your building.
