I read somewhere that housing connect was changing the percentage of community board units in the lottery. It was supposed to be less than 50% of the units being allocated to community board. Does anyone know when that is supposed to begin

The new cb split is going to be 20%.

It was supposed to start March 1st but it hasn’t. I’d reckon it will be enforced sooner than later

Is this going to affect current lotteries or will it only be implemented on future lotteries?

Looks like there’s no official date or anything officially published as of now but it sounds like any lottery that is already posted won’t be affected.

I was reading this article: https://www.globest.com/2024/01/24/n...reshold/?amp=1

Default Wait and See. As Ever.

(Unit Preference is not an accurate description of this thread)
I believe the allotment to CB has been adjusted downward.

Like so much with these lotteries a wait will be involved until movement is seen. I suppose there could be projects perhaps many projects that have not broken ground yet but were initiated and approved under the 50% CB preference model. I doubt they will would change the rules for such projects if the first planning steps have already been taken. It could be a wait until we see a lottery notice with the new lower CB preference %, and we may see many announcements for lotteries with the 50% preference still.
