Hello all and thanks for reading this. I am curious, what is your favorite borough other than manhattan? Why do you prefer it compared to the others?Also which is most affordable if it isnt the one you picked as your favorite. Thanks.

It's been done so many times on here people might not have the stomach to reply again.The Bronx is the least expensive.There is little debate about that.The other questions will get answers that are a matter of opinion.

Safest = Staten Island
Most dangerous = Bronx (w/ Brooklyn not too far behind)

Brooklyn has more dangerous neighborhoods though. The bronx aint got nothing on brooklyn. Dont let the Billyburg hipsters and the park slope yuppies from iowa fool you.

With both boroughs, if you live in a nice area than you live in a nice area. Simple as that. Somebody in pelham manor(bronx) living in a house is not worried about the thugs in university heights

None of the boroughs is really very dangerous although each contains some fairly dangerous pockets.Even the most dangerous precincts of Brooklyn,Manhattan(Harlem,Washington Heights) or The Bronx have crime rates significantly lower than most major cities in the US.

What this means is that the average neighborhood in Philadelphia,St Louis,Detroit,New Orleans,Miami,Baltimore,Memphis, Washington,D.C,Newark,Cleveland,Kansas City,Cincinnati and Oakland has a higher crime rate than the NYC precincts with the highest crime rates.

If you look at the crime rates of whole boroughs, as opposed to the worst precincts in the boroughs ,an overwhelming majority of US cities show higher rates.Even a cities perceived as very safe,like Boston and San Francisco,have higher violent crime rates than The Bronx.
